How to Use Action Replay Discs on Wii

The Action Replay series of third-party peripherals for video game consoles allow for users to program special cheat codes that are designed to manipulate the game code well outside of any cheats that are programmed into the game. Because of a Nintendo Firmware update, the Nintendo Wii version of the Action Replay is no longer usable, but because the Wii also plays Gamecube games, the Gamecube Action Replay still works on the Wii and is just as easy to use as ever.

Things You'll Need

Action Replay disc
Nintendo Wii controller
Nintendo Gamecube controller
Nintendo Gamecube game

Instructions

  Power on your Nintendo Wii and place your Action Replay disc in the console.

  Navigate to your Game Disc menu inside your Nintendo Wii using the Wiimote and click "Start" to bring up the Action Replay options.

  Plug in your Nintendo Gamecube controller into the top of the Wii. Once connected, use the Gamecube controller to navigate the menus inside of Action Replay, selecting the game you want cheats for and then checking the cheats you want to use. Once selected, select the "Start Game" option.

  Eject your Action Replay disc and insert your Gamecube disc to begin the game.
