How to Sync a Nintendo Wii Remote to the Console

The Nintendo Wii was released in 2006 in all countries. For previous Nintendo systems, connecting a controller involved plugging the controller into the console. Since the Wii's controllers, called Wii Remotes, are wireless, they require a different way to connect to the system. This process is called syncing, and you must sync each Wii Remote to the system before they will work.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the battery cover of the Wii Remote.

    • 2

Push the red button located in the battery slot beneath the batteries.

    • 3

Open the hatch on the front of your Wii. Depress the tiny red button while the blue light on the Wii's disc drive blinks.

    • 4

Press "A" on your Wii Remote. It will now turn on and be synced to your Nintendo Wii.
