Things You'll Need
Instructions
Plug the audio/video cable or AV cable connector firmly into the back of the Wii system. Ensure that the AV cable is securely connected to avoid picture and sound distortion. Both the Yamaha receiver and the Nintendo Wii should be unplugged from the power outlet at this point.
Plug the AV cable into an available AV input slot on the Yamaha receiver and match each plug with its corresponding connection. The AV plugs and the connections are color-coded.
Connect the Yamaha receiver to the television using a HDMI cable if the Yamaha receiver allows HDMI pass-through. The HDMI pass-through allows all devices that are connected to the receiver to send video out of one cable to the television. If there is not HDMI pass-through available, then connect an AV cable from the monitor output of the receiver to the television.
Plug the Nintendo Wii into the power outlet and turn it on. Make sure the Yamaha receiver is on, as well. Set the receiver to the correct input by using the remote to select the AV input the Nintendo Wii is connected to. Set the television to the correct input and verify that the Wii system user interface is showing on the television. You will see instructions from Nintendo for using the Wii system.
