How to Unlock Wii Points

Released in 2006, the Nintendo Wii is a family-friendly, next-generation console with an online store. In order to purchase items from the store, you use Wii points as currency. Before you can use the Wii points, however, you must purchase Wii point cards in stores and unlock the points into your account. To add the Wii points to your account, you must type in the card code in the Wii Shop Channel.

     Point your Wii remote toward the Wii Shop Channel and press "A." Wait for the channel to load.

     Press "A" on "Start Shopping" and then "Add Wii Points."

     Press "A" on "Redeem Nintendo Points Card."

     Point to each number on-screen to type in the card number. Press "A" on "OK."

   • 5

     Select "Redeem." This unlocks the points into your account.
