How to Upgrade Wii Firmware With a Chip

The Nintendo Wii is capable of playing next generation video games which allow the player to become actively involved. There are also many other homebrew applications, including emulators such as Wii64, SnesX and WiiSx. You can also use media players such as Media Player CE to watch videos, listen to music, view pictures, share the Internet and even stream data back and forth over a network using your computer and your Wii. If you have a modchip installed in your Nintendo Wii, updating the firmware menu version will tell Nintendo that you have a chipped Wii and your homebrew files and applications will be deleted. This makes an offline firmware upgrade essential to update your menu version without data loss. Updating your Wii menu version also gives you added compatibility for many other homebrew applications.
