How to Make a New Wii Channel

The Nintendo Wii has the capability to house 48 channels at once. A channel is a portal into an application such as a game, Internet surfing, shopping or other activities you can engage in on a Wii system. The Disc channel, for example, allows you to play games purchased for Wii, while the Mii channel enables you to create personalities for use in Wii games and applications. Many channels require an Internet connection.

  Connect your Wii to the Internet. Use a wired or wireless connection, as connecting is the only way to create a new channel on your Wii.

  Press the Wii Menu to access the Wii Shop channel. Using your Wii remote, point the cursor at the "Wii Menu" bar and click it. A range of boxes will appear. The title "Wii Shop Channel" will appear in one of the boxes.

  Select the Wii Shop Channel using your Wii remote. Once inside the Wii Shop Channel, click on the section marked "Channels." From here you can download a number of new channels to enhance your Wii experience at no cost. Browse available channels and select "Add channel" to create that channel as a new channel on your Wii.
