How Can I Update My Wii Chip to the Latest Firmware?

Turn on the Wii and connect to the Internet. On the opening "Wii Channel" menu, select the "Wii" button and then press the "A" button on the remote. A new screen appears.

Navigate the cursor over the "Wii Setting" icon with a wrench picture, and press the "A" button. The "System Setting" screen comes into view, displaying three separate boxes with options.

Move the cursor to the "Wii System Settings 3" box and select "Wii System Update" by pressing the "A" button. Choose "Next" and then "Accept." The Wii searches the Internet for the newest system update available, and installs it automatically.
