How to Connect Wiimote to PC With Bluetooth

The Nintendo Wii is a revolutionary video game system that allows players to interact with the games based on their movements. The ingenious aspect isn't in the system itself, but in the controller, called a Wiimote. The Wiimotes use accelerometers to record all the gestures of a player who is holding the remote, and transfers that information to the Wii using Bluetooth technology. While they were designed for use with the Wii, if your computer has Bluetooth installed, you can connect the Wiimote to it for use with programs that are designed to interact with that type of controller.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the circular Windows button in the lower-left corner of your desktop to bring up the start menu.

    • 2

Click in the search box at the bottom of the menu and type in "Bluetooth."

    • 3

Press the "1" and "2" buttons on your Wiimote at the same time. You will then see the lights on the Wiimote blinking, meaning that it is ready to connect.

    • 4

Click on "Add a Bluetooth device" which will appear along the left side of the screen after you type in "Bluetooth." Your computer will search for a few seconds, and then display a list of all nearby Bluetooth devices.

    • 5

Select the "Nintendo RVL-CNT-01" device and click the "Next" button.

    • 6

Place a dot in the radial button next to "Don't use a passkey." Then check your Wiimote to see if it has stopped blinking. If it has, press "1" and "2" again, then press "Next" on your computer.

    • 7

Click "Finish" to complete the connection.
