The Nintendo Wii supports online play through the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, the official online multiplayer gaming service for the console. To play online with friends who own the same games as you, Nintendo has implemented a system where users can swap unique 12-digit friend codes with one another.

Friends' game-specific friend codes
Internet-enabled Wii

Instructions

  Turn on your Wii. Double-check to make sure it has connected to the Internet.

  Insert a Nintendo Wii game with Wi-Fi online play compatibility into your console. Select the game on the Wii's main menu.

  Enter your friends' friend codes into the game's address book or friend list equivalent. Have your friends do the same with your friend code on their copies of the game.

  Start one of the game's online play modes and invite your friends to join.
