How to Program a Second Wii Controller

The Nintendo Wii gains much of its popularity from the fact that more than one person can play a game at the same time. However, each player must have a separate controller and a maximum of four controllers can be connected. Once you've programmed the first Wii controller, programming subsequent controllers is easy.

Instructions

    • 1

      Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii controller.

      Insert two AA batteries in the battery compartment. Leave the battery cover off.

      Press the power button on the Wii console to turn it on.

      Open the cover of the SD Card slot on the front of the Wii console.

    • 5

      Press and release the "SYNC" button located inside of the SD Card slot.

      Press and release the "SYNC" button found just below the batteries at the back of the Wii controller.

      When the lights on the front of the controller stop blinking, you have completed programming it.

    • 8

      Replace the cover of the SD Card slot on the Wii console and the cover of the battery compartment on the remote.
