How to Plug in a GameCube Controller to Wii Pictures

The Nintendo Wii allows you to play hundreds of exciting video games, but also gives you the ability to access other features by using "channels." Within the Wii's channels, you are able to check the weather, watch movies and also view pictures--which happens in the "Wii Photo Channel." Another great aspect of the Wii is that you can use your old GameCube controllers not only to play games on it, but to access channels as well.

Instructions

    • 1

      Turn on your Nintendo Wii.

    • 2

Gently pull the side panel of the Wii open by placing your fingers into the grooves provided. Lift outward to reveal the GameCube controller ports. Pull the panel away from the Wii to completely remove it.

    • 3

Plug your GameCube controller into the port nearest the power button (the port located closest to the front of the Wii).

    • 4

Open the "Photo Channel" by moving your cursor over the "Photo Channel" icon in the Wii Menu and hitting the green "A" button on your GameCube controller. The green "A" button corresponds with the white "A" button on your Wii Remote and is used to select and confirm items.

    • 5

Click "Start" to run the "Photo Channel."

    • 6

Click on the appropriate source of your pictures. For instance, if you want to view pictures located on an SD card, select the icon that resembles an SD card. This will open up a folder containing all of the pictures on your source. For a complete list of controller functions and channel options, visit the "Nintendo: Photo Channel" webpage (see References for link).
