How to Unlock Masterpieces & Characters in Super Smash Brothers Brawl

"Super Smash Brothers Brawl" is a beat 'em up released for the Wii in 2008, and features many Nintendo characterss. An additional 14 characters are unlockable by completing certain conditions. These will trigger a fight against a secret character that you must win to unlock. You can also unlock all of the characters, unless otherwise stated, by playing the "Subspace Emissary" mode to the point where they join your party. Masterpieces are timed demos for a selection of Nintendo games which you can unlock without an additional fight.

Instructions

  1. Characters

    • 1

      Play five "Versus" mode matches or reflect 10 ranged attacks to trigger the fight against Ness.

      Complete "Classic" mode with any character on any difficulty or play 10 "Versus" mode matches to fight Marth.

      Play 22 "Versus" mode games or beat "Classic" mode without using a continue to battle against Luigi.

      Finish the "100-Man Brawl" mode or play 50 "Versus" matches and Falco will challenge you to a fight.

      Beat "Classic" mode in under 12 minutes on normal difficulty, or play 70 "Versus" mode games to trigger the fight with Captain Falcon.

      Play 100 "Versus" mode matches or complete "Target Smash" mode on all difficulties with one character to fight against Lucario.

      Play 130 "Versus" mode games on any level, or 15 "Versus" mode games on the Shadow Moses Island stage to battle against Snake.

      Collect 250 unique trophies or play 160 "Versus" mode fights to battle against R.O.B.

      Finish "Classic" mode on hard difficulty with Link or Zelda, or play 200 "Versus" games to fight Ganondorf.

      Complete "Target Smash" mode on a single difficulty setting with 30 different characters or play 250 "Versus" mode games to fight with Mr. Game &Watch.

      Clear "Classic" mode with 10 different characters or play 300 "Versus" games to unlock the fight against Sonic. He can also join your party when you complete the "Subspace Emissary" mode.

      Play 350 "Versus" mode battles to trigger the fight against Jigglypuff. Alternatively, beat the "Subspace Emissary" mode with anyone, then either beat at least 20 events or win against Jigglypuff in the "Subspace Emissary" Swamp stage.

      Complete 400 "Versus" mode games to fight against Toon Link. Alternatively, finish the "Subspace Emissary" mode, then beat the "Classic" mode on any difficulty with any character, or win the battle with Toon Link in the Forest stage in the "Subspace Emissary."

      Play 450 "Versus" mode matches to unlock the fight against Wolf. This fight also triggers after you complete the "Subspace Emissary" mode either when you beat "Boss Battle" mode an any difficulty with Fox, or beat Wolf in the Ruins stage of the "Subspace Emissary."

    Masterpieces

    • 15

      Play the game for 10 hours to unlock "Donkey Kong."

      Win five brawls with Peach to unlock "Super Mario Bros. 2."

    • 17

      Play more than three games on the "Yoshi's Island" stage to unlock "Super Mario World."

    • 18

      Make Captain Falcon join your group in the "Subspace Emissary" mode to unlock "F-Zero."

    • 19

      Unlock Toon Link and use him in 10 brawls to unlock "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time."
