How to Play an AVI on the Wii

The Nintendo Wii is able to play video off its SD memory card, providing that the file is in a Wii-compatible format. You can play an AVI video file on the Wii by converting it to the Wii-compatible format on a PC. A Wii video conversion program, created by Wii game enthusiasts, will take care of the conversion--there are a number of these programs available for free, which operate in a straightforward and intuitive fashion. Once converted, the AVI file will be able to play on the Wii from a SD memory card without any modification to the Wii being necessary.
