How to Connect the Guitar Hero Guitar to Rock Band on the Wii

Guitar Hero and Rock Band are two competing interactive music gaming franchises. Both games feature guitar-shaped controllers where the user must play on-screen songs by strumming and fingering the songs on the controller. Although similar, each game features a different assortment of songs and a slightly different play style. While the Guitar Hero guitar is not compatible with the first installment of Rock Band on the Wii, you can seamlessly connect the Guitar Hero guitar to Rock Band 2.

Instructions

  Switch on the Nintendo Wii using the Wii remote and open the expansion cover on the front of the Wii.

  Press the red "Sync" button beneath the expansion cover.

  Remove the battery compartment cover on your Wii remote. Press the red "Sync" button beneath the cover. You may have to take off the rubber protective case in order to remove the battery compartment cover. Replace the battery compartment cover.

  Assemble the Guitar Hero guitar by sliding the neck into the base of the guitar until it audibly clicks.

  Turn the Guitar Hero guitar over and pull the two tabs to open the controller cover.

  Plug the Wii remote connector into the bottom of your Wii remote and place the remote inside of the opening. Replace the controller cover.

  Insert the Rock Band 2 Wii game into the system and press "Start."
