How to Use the Menu Loader on a Wii

Using "Menu Loader" for the Nintendo Wii allows you to adjust settings and criteria within the console, such as its ability to run out-of-region games or to have no music on the main Wii menu. The menu loader is one of many hombrew applications that are made by people who play the Wii and want to add something extra to it. Most of these application authors provide their product for free to anyone who wants to download it.

Start the Wii console. Make sure that you do not have the SD card in the Wii.

Insert the SD card into the reader on the front of the Wii. Go to the options in the lower-left corner of the screen and press "A."

    • 4

Select "Storage Device" and press "A." Select "SD Card," and press "A" to open the SD card folder.

    • 5

Select and load the .DOL file in the SD card. This will reboot the Wii, bringing up the menu loader screen. Use the directional pad on the Wiimote to navigate the menu, and select which changes you want to make by highlighting them and pressing "A" to select them. Close the loader menu when you are finished and play your games with the modifications you have selected.
