How to Open Wii Bin Files on a Computer

Certain games on the Nintendo Wii allow you to take snapshots of the onscreen display and save them to a removable SD card so that you can view them later. If you attempt to view the snapshots on your computer, you will learn that they are not standard .jpg images, but are instead .bin files. You can, however, open the Wii .bin files on the computer and view them as .jpg images using a converter.

Instructions

  1. Bin2JPG Converter

    • 1

Download and install the Bin2JPG converter file. This is a batch file that runs the .bin image through a conversion process, creating a .jpg version of the .bin file.

    • 2

Right-click on the file and select "Extract All." Navigate to your desktop and click "Extract."

    • 3

Insert the SD card that contains the Wii .bin files that you want to view into the SD card reader on your computer. If you do not have an integrated SD card, reader you must use a USB adapter. Plug the adapter into any USB port and insert the SD card into the adapter.

    • 4

Click on "Start" and select "Computer." Locate the SD card in the "Devices with removable storage" section. Double-click it and navigate to the "private/wii/app/RSBE/al" directory on the SD card.

    • 5

Highlight all of the .bin files on the SD card. Press "Ctrl" and "C" simultaneously to copy the files. Open the folder that you extracted the Bin2JPG batch converter into. Press "Ctrl" and "V" simultaneously to paste the .bin files into the folder.

    • 6

Double-click on the bin2jpgall.bat batch file to process each .bin file through the converter. New .jpg files will appear in the folder.

    • 7

Double-click on any of the .jpg files to view them on your computer. Move the files to the folder of your choice.

    SSBB Bin File Viewer

    • 8

Download the SSBB Bin File Viewer and save it to your desktop.

    • 9
