How to Put Wii in Standby

The Nintendo Wii includes a feature called WiiConnect24 that automatically downloads information to your console if it's connected to the Internet. With both WiiConnect24 and standby mode enabled, you'll receive messages, updates and other information as they become available, even if your console is turned off. When standby mode is inactive, you'll receive these downloads only when you're actively using your Wii. A blue light will glow in the Wii's disc slot when your console is receiving data through WiiConnect24.
