How to Download DS Games on the Wii

Those wanting to play some handheld titles on a larger screen are in luck. Some Nintendo DS titles, such as "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney" and "Diner Dash," can be downloaded on the Nintendo Wii through the online WiiWare service. These titles cost between $5 and $10 each (as of 2010), and are saved on the Wii's internal memory after download.

  Choose the "Wii Shop Channel" from the Nintendo Wii's menu. Select "Start" to begin.

  Select "WiiWare" on the opening screen. The games available include a variety of titles and genres, largely from independent developers. Some game series popular on the Nintendo DS, such as "WarioWare" and "Bejeweled," have iterations available for download here.

  Use one of the search methods to find games. You can select from options like "Popular Titles" and "Newest Additions."

  Scroll through the list of games to find DS titles and others that might interest you. Select a game to find out more information about it, such as genre, number of players and game details. The required number of Nintendo Points needed to buy the game will also be listed.

  Download a game by choosing the button of the same name. The Nintendo Points will be deducted from your account and the downloading process will begin.

  Play a downloaded game by returning to the Wii's menu. The game will be saved to an empty channel on the menu. Find it and select it to begin. You can move a game to another channel by putting the cursor over it and holding "A" and "B" on the Wii remote. Move the game and release the buttons to place it elsewhere.
