How to Sync a Wii With a TV

Released in 2006 by Nintendo, the Wii features both motion controls and standard controller gameplay, as well as additional online features including weather forecasts and news updates. Players can also download classic video games to play on the Wii. Setting up the console with your television is a snap. Syncing the Wii with your TV can be done in a few minutes, allowing you to begin playing in no time.

Instructions

Connect the audio-video cables. The AV Multi Out plug on the back of the Wii console is located below the fan opening. Insert the cable into this plug and the red, white and yellow cables into the appropriate audio-video slots on your television.

Connect the sensor bar. The plug on the Wii console is located beside the AV Multi Out plug. Place the sensor bar either on top of your television or on the stand on which your TV sits. Center the sensor bar in the center of the television screen for best results.

Sync the Wii remotes with the Wii console. Press the red sync button located in the battery compartment of a Wii remote and then press the same button in the SD card slot on front of the Wii. The LED lights on the remote should blink when you press the remote sync button and then stop blinking when you press the sync button on the Wii. One light will remain lit on the remote to indicate the player number of the controller.

Test a remote to make sure the Wii console and television are properly synced. Point the remote at the screen. You should see a hand with a player number on it move across the screen when you move your hand.
