How to Wire a Wii to a TV

The Nintendo Wii console comes packaged with everything you need to connect it to your television and begin playing games. In addition to the usual power cord and audio/video cable, the Wii includes a sensor bar that registers signals from the wireless Wii remote controllers. For the best results when playing the Wii, the sensor bar should be placed near the front of your television or entertainment center in a location where there are no obstructions that could interfere with the signal.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the gray, single-pronged end of the audio/video cable to the back of the Wii console in the slot below the air vents. Connect the yellow, white and red ends of this cable to the corresponding audio and video inputs on your television set.

    • 2

Attach the sensor bar cable to the back of the Wii console in the small red connector to the left of the slot for the AV cable. Place the sensor bar in a horizontal position immediately above or below your television set.

    • 3

Connect the power cable to the back of the Wii console and plug the opposite end into a wall outlet.

    • 4

Turn on your television and select the input into which the Wii cables are connected. Power on the Wii console to access the Wii's main menu.
