How to Back Up a Wii on DVD

Backing up a Wii game makes sense because it gives you a chance to play your system when a game gets damaged. To keep your funds in your pocket, use a DVD to copy the data so you can use this information just in case you lose the ability to play a certain Wii game. If you have a suitable DVD drive, own the required software and have a DVD to store your data, use these items to create your back ups.

Instructions

    • 1

Ensure you have a suitable DVD drive. The LG 8164B that LG makes costs about $15 on sites such as Amazon. This item allows you to save the data from your game onto a DVD for storage purposes.

    • 2

Place the drive into your laptop or desktop using the manual from the device you buy. Put a DVD you own into the system to ensure it operates efficiently.

    • 3

Install the software you require on your computer operating system (see Resources). Place the Raw Dump, .Net Framework and Izarc applications on your computer. Unzip the Raw Dump .rar data after the data install.

    • 4

Put your DVD into the DVD component of your computer system. Start the Raw Dump utility. Allow the dump to proceed for about 2.5 hours before it concludes.

    • 5

Check to see if your stored data appear in the correct folder. Look for the back up in the Raw Dump folder. When you see this information, you will notice that it contains a little less than 4.5 gigabytes of data. Save the information that this .ISO file contains onto a recordable DVD at a low speed to capture all of its data safely.
