Wii Cheats for Pitfall

The Nintendo Wii game "Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure" is a revamp of the classic Atari platform game "Pitfall." The classic version challenged players to explore a foreboding jungle in search of a lost city filled with treasures. True to its vintage roots, "Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure" contains exacting gameplay and punishing challenges, so a few cheats may be needed to help you get the most out of the game.
  1. Level Select

    • While the Atari original "Pitfall" was quite repetitive, offering multiple levels filled with the same swamps, alligators and swinging ropes, the updated game contains more variety between levels. To access a level select, enabling the choice of any of the game's areas to start on, press "B," "Right," "A," "Down," "Right," "Up," "B," "Left," "A," "Up," "Right" and "A" at the title screen. If this code does not work, check your Virtual Console controller settings; some controller setups use the "1" and "2" buttons for "A" and "B." If you're not using a classic controller, make sure you're holding your WiiMote sideways in the classic game style.

    Original Pitfall

    • To get a taste of the game that came before "Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure," hold your WiiMote sideways and press "Down." Press "A" 26 times and then press "Down" again. The option to play the original Atari version of "Pitfall" will become visible on the menu.

    Extra Lives and Weapons

    • To start the game with nine lives instead of the usual three, press "Right," "A," "Down," "B," "Right," "A," "B," "Up" then "Down" at the title screen. To get extra weapons as well as the extra lives, enter the code "Left," "A," "Down," "B," "Right," "A," "B," "Up," "Down," "A," "B," "Up," "C," "A," "C" then "A." To get unlimited continues instead of extra lives, enter the code "C," "C," "C," "C," "Left," "A," "Down," "Up" and "Down" at the title screen. Check your Virtual Console settings; some configurations use the "A" button to represent "C," while others use the classic controller's "X" button.
