How to Open Things on Mario Kart for the Wii

Nintendo developed and released "Mario Kart Wii," a kart racing simulation for its Wii console. In this game, players can choose one of their favorite "Mario" franchise characters and put them in karts in order to race to the finish line and determine the fastest character in the Mushroom Kingdom. The game contains secret content including karts, tracks and characters that you can unlock during game play if you know what to do.

Instructions

Unlocking Tracks

  Win at least third place in the Banana Cup and Shell Cup series of races to unlock the Leaf Cup tracks. To get third place in these races, you must have at least the third highest number of points at the end of four races. If you do not get at least third place the first time you try, play again until you do.

  Win at least third place in the Flower Cup and Mushroom Cup series of races to unlock the Star Cup tracks.

  Win at least third place in the Star Cup series of races to unlock the Special Cup tracks.

  Win at least third place in the Leaf Cup series of races to unlock the Lightning Cup tracks.
Unlocking Characters

  Get first place in the 150cc Special Cup to unlock Daisy. Get first place in the 100cc Leaf Cup to unlock Dry Bones. Get first place in the 50cc Star Cup to unlock King Boo. get first place in the 100cc Special Cup to unlock Mii (outfit A).

  Get a rating of at least one star on all of the cup series in various difficulty modes. Getting a star in all of the Wii cup series with 50cc difficulty mode will unlock Baby Daisy. A star in the 100cc retro-cups will unlock Bowser Jr. A star in the 150cc Wii cups will unlock Dry Bowser.

  Play 16 tracks in "Time Trial" mode to unlock Birdo, and play all 32 tracks to unlock Toadette. If you get a certain time on these tracks, you can unlock staff ghosts and get even more characters. Unlocking four staff ghosts will unlock Funky Kong, eight ghosts will unlock Baby Luigi, and 32 ghosts will unlock Mii (outfit B).

  Unlock Rosalina by playing the game with a Super Mario Galaxy save file in your Wii's hard drive.
Unlocking Vehicles

  Win the Leaf and Special Cups at 50cc to unlock the Piranha Prowler and Turbo Blooper. Win the Lightning and Star Cups at 100cc to unlock the Zip Zip and Shooting Star. Win the Star, Lightning and Leaf cups at 150cc to unlock the Quacker, the Honeycoupe and the Royal Racer.

  Attain a one-star rank in both the 100cc Wii cups, the 50cc retro cups and the 150cc retro cups to unlock the Sneakster, the Cheep Charger and the Aero Glider, respectively.

  Unlock the Mirror Mode by getting first place in all 150cc cup series. Win the Leaf, Star and Special cups in this mode to unlock the Bubble Bike, the Dolphin Dasher and the Phantom.

  Play "Time Trial" mode on eight different tracks to unlock the Magikruiser. Unlock one staff ghost in this mode to unlock the Tiny Titan. Unlock 12 Staff ghosts in this mode to unlock the Spear. Unlock 24 staff ghosts to unlock the Sprinter.
