Wii Channels provide a way for Nintendo Wii owners to organize and access specific types of data or information. These channels may provide weather or news updates, an Internet browser or access to the Wii Shop. Other channels allow customization of a Mii, a personalized avatar which can be used as a character in some games. Some channels come already installed on the Wii, but others must be downloaded from the Wii Shop. All channels can be downloaded for free.

Connect the Wii to the Internet using a high-speed connection.

Turn on the Wii, and from the main menu, select the ̶0;Wii Shop̶1; channel.

Browse the selection of channels in the Wii Shop, and click on the one you want to download. Once the channel is downloaded to the Wii, go back to the main menu to access any channels you download.
