Insert a SD card into the SD card reader. Insert the SD card reader into a USB port on the PC. Wait for the icon of the SD card to appear on the desktop.
Double-click on the icon of the SD card to open its window. Right-click inside of the window. Select "New folder" from the pop-up menu. Name the folder "Apps."
Download a Wii DVD playing modification program to the PC's desktop such as the wiilogiiDVD file (see Resources). Double-click on the file once it is fully downloaded to decompress it to the Mplayer folder and the DVDx folder on the desktop.
Drag both folders from the desktop onto the "Apps" folder that is inside of the SD card's window. Wait as a copy progress bar appears, fills in from right to left and then disappears. Eject the SD card from the PC by right-clicking on its icon and selecting "Eject" from the pop-up menu. Remove the SD card adapter from the PC. Remove the SD card from the SD card adapter.
Insert the SD card into the SD card slot on the Wii. Turn the Wii on.
Select the "Homebrew" channel from the Wii's main menu. Press the "Start" button on the new screen that appears. Locate a file that begins with "apps. DVDx" from the list of choices presented on a new screen. Select the file. Click the "Load" button that appears. Select "Normal install" from the list of choices presented on a new screen.
Wait as lines of text scroll up the screen. Click the "Exit" button on the screen when the lines of text stop scrolling.
Locate a file that begins with "MPlayer" from the list of choices presented on a new screen. Select the file. Click the "Load" button that appears. Wait as a progress bar appears and fills in from left to right before disappearing. Click the "Exit" button on the screen when it appears.
Insert a DVD movie disc into the DVD slot on the front of the Wii. Select "Mplayer" from the "Home menu." Select "DVD-Video" from the list of choices presented on the screen. Select "Play" from the list of choices presented on the screen. Watch the DVD movie that now begins to play on the screen.
