How to Use Two Controllers for Mario Cart on the Wii

"Mario Kart Wii" is a fast-paced racing game that was released for the Nintendo Wii in 2008. Multiplayer modes in the game support up to four players on a single Wii, and up to 12 players online via Nintendo's "Wi-Fi Connection" (the multiplayer matchmaking service for the Wii). The controller options for "Mario Kart Wii" include the Wii Remote, the Wii Classic Controller and the GameCube controller. All of these controllers are supported in the game's multiplayer modes.

Instructions

    • 1

      Turn on the Wii.

    • 2

Open the SD card cover on the front of the Wii and press the "Sync" button. The sync light will begin flashing.

    • 3

Remove the battery cover on the back of the second Wii Remote. Press the "Sync" button. After a second, the lights on both the Wii Remote and the Wii console will stabilize, indicating a successful sync. If you're using one, attach a Classic Controller to the expansion port underneath the Wii Remote.

    • 4

Insert the "Mario Kart Wii" disc if it isn't already. Select the "Mario Kart Wii" icon on the Wii Channel Menu to start the game.

    • 5

Select "Multiplayer" from the "Mario Kart Wii" main menu. Select "Two Players." Press the "A" button to sign in with the controllers you want to use. Select a track and play the game as you would during single player.
