Open your wireless router's management console in your web browser. The address varies by brand. Enter your user name and password. Select the "Wireless Settings" option and write down the "SSID" and "network encryption key." Obtain the "WEP" code.
Turn on your Nintendo Wii and press the "A" button to access the main menu. Select the "Wii" icon at the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Select the "Wii Settings" button.
Click the right arrow and select the "Internet" button on the second page of options. Select the "Connection 1" button. Click the "Wireless" button and select "Search for an Access Point." Click "OK" to see a list of all wireless connections available.
Choose your wireless router from the list of available wireless connections. Enter the network key for your router. Click the "OK" button, select "Save Settings," and click the "Yes" button.
Turn on the Nintendo DS and enter the "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Setup" menu. Tap the "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Settings" button.
Tap the "Connection 1" button and select the "Manual Setup" icon. Enter the "SSID" and "WEP" numbers for your router. Make sure that the "Auto-obtain IP Address" and the "Auto-obtain DNS" options are marked as "Yes." Tap the "Save Settings" button.
Once the Nintendo Wii and the Nintendo DS are connected to Wi-Fi, turn on the Nintendo Wii. Insert a game which features Wii-DS connectivity. Select the game from the main menu. Select the option to import DS games, connect to a DS or share data, depending on the game.
Turn on the Nintendo DS and insert the corresponding game. Select the connect to Wii option. Your Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS will automatically connect.
