System Specs
The Wii case dimensions are 8.5 inches by 6 inches by 2 inches, making it one of the smaller systems of its generation. The Wii uses an IBM Broadway 729MHz central processing unit to power its circuits. To power its graphics, it uses an ATI Hollywood 243 MHz graphics processing unit. This allows the Wii to support a resolution of up to 480p. The system has 88 MB of system memory and is able to connect to the Internet with Wi-Fi.
Storage Media
The Wii games come on a 12 cm disc that have a storage capacity of 4.7 GB to 8.5 GB for dual layer discs. It will also play Nintendo GameCube games that use an 8 cm disc. Both of these types of disc will self-load into the tray. The internal storage memory of the Wii tops at 512 MB but there is a slot for an SD memory card that can be used to save downloaded games and save games.
Controller Information
The Wii can use four controllers at a time. Any combination of Wireless three-axis motion controllers or GameCube controllers can be used. The back of the Wii has four sockets for GameCube controllers. The wireless Wii controller uses Bluetooth connectivity and has an expansion port for Wii Motion Plus or a Nunchuck.
