Tips & Tricks for Animal Crossing on Wii

Nintendo released the video game "Animal Crossing: City Folk" exclusively for its Wii console in November of 2008. Developed by Virtual Life, "City Folk" is rated suitable for players of all ages. "City Folk" is the only game in the "Animal Crossing" series released for the Wii system. Players must perform tasks throughout the game to earn new items and develop friendships with others. To improve your performance and find new items, you can use tips and tricks in "City Folk."
  1. Character Items

    • Many of the items in "Animal Crossing: City Folk" for the Wii are not present at the start of the game and must be unlocked by interacting with other characters in the game. To unlock a fork and knife set, you must find and talk to the character Tortimer when the game's calendar says it is Harvest Day. You can then give the fork and knife to a character named Franklin in exchange for a bed, bureau, chair, clock, dresser, lamp, mirror, rug, sofa, table, TV, or wall. You get a cake by visiting any of your neighbors on the day designated as the main character's birthday.

    Silver and Gold Tools

    • Special versions of the tools in "City Folk" are earned by accomplishing specific tasks throughout the game. To get a gold fishing rod, you must catch at least one fish from each type in the game. You unlock a gold watering can by using your regular watering can to keep the town's rating at the highest level for 15 straight days and then finding the character Petty. To get a perfect town rating, you must water all of the plants in the area. You unlock a silver watering can by going to Tom Nook's store and purchasing at least 50 seed bags.

    Point Items

    • Most of the items in "City Folk" are obtained by earning money, or Bells, and buying them at Tom Nook's store. You get a bonus point every time you accumulate 100 Bells spent, and these points can be used to get special items. You get a banana once you reach 500 points and an egg from Yoshi once you reach 1,000 points. To unlock a hat that resembles Toad from the Mario video games, you must reach 3,000 points. To unlock Midna's mask, you must rack up 6,500 points. To get a kart, you must accumulate 10,000 points.
