How do I Buy a Basic Wii?

The Nintendo Wii console saw release in late 2006. Remarkably different from all other standard gaming consoles, including Nintendo's previous product line, the Wii outsold its main competitors, making it difficult to find for a reasonable sale price. This is no longer the case and, as of August 2010, the Nintendo Wii system sells for $199.99, both in stores and online. The Nintendo website markets the Wii in a user-friendly manner, making it easy for any consumer to select and order his console.

Instructions

  1. Getting Started

    • 1

After accessing Nintendo's official website, click on the "Wii" button at the top of the screen. This will bring you to the main menu for general information on the Wii.

    • 2

Click on the tab labeled "Wii Console." Check the specifications for what will come with a Wii system so you can be certain that you will have everything you need from Nintendo's pre-packaged starter kit.

    • 3

If you are still unsure about the Wii's specifications, click the "Learn More" button under the "About the Wii console" paragraph. If you are ready to purchase the Wii, click "Buy Now."

    Making Your Purchase

    • 4

Click which Wii you prefer, the white or black model, on the "Buy Now" page.

    • 5

Select the specific store from which you will be ordering your Wii package. First, though, research which store is offering the best deal at the time of order. While all stores generally keep the price about the same as manufacturer price ($199.99), occasionally individual stores offer sales prices or add-ons to the system, such as extra games or controllers.

Choose your retailer and place your order. If you do not have a registered account with your chosen retailer, you will have to create an account and provide valid credit card and personal information in order to receive your order via mail. Also, as the pre-packaged Wii does not include accessories for more than one user, many buyers choose to add another remote and nunchuk (the motion device that can act as a baseball bat, tennis racket or other device in many Wii games) to their purchase. It is best to do this at the time you order your system to save on shipping.
