How to Override the Parental Control Code in a Nintendo Wii

The Nintendo Wii is a family console that parents can use to monitor the content their children watch and play. The parental control system allows parents to set up a four-digit code to restrict Internet usage, system updates, chat features and block any unapproved rated games. If parents forget the Wii's parental code, they will have to override the settings to fix the Wii.

Instructions

    • 1

Use the Wii remote to select "Settings." At the bottom screen, click the "Right arrow" twice to reach the parental controls menu.

    • 2

Select "Parental Controls." You will asked if you would like to change these settings. Select "Yes."

    • 3

Get your eight-digit conformation number. Select "I forgot my 4-digit pin" from the parental control menu. Then select "I forgot my secret password." You will be given an eight-digit conformation number used in accessing your old parental control code.
