Things You'll Need
Instructions
Check that your modem is connected to the Internet using a computer. If your computer uses a wired connection, you will need to connect the Wii to the modem through the LAN adapter and a Cat5 Internet cable. Consult the adapter packaging and manual if you have questions. If you cannot connect to Verizon through the modem, contact the provider's technical support.
Switch on the Nintendo console. Access the Wii menu by clicking the "Wii" icon in the lower-left corner of the main Home menu.
Click the "Wii Settings" button. Select "Internet."
Choose "Connection Settings." Select "Connection 1."
Select "Wired" or "Wireless," depending on how your computer connects to the Internet. If you are using the LAN adapter, you should choose "Wired."
Select the Internet connection settings. If you are using a wired connection to your modem, your console will automatically connect to the Internet. For a wireless connection, choose "Search for an Access Point." Follow the on-screen prompts to connect to the wireless network and input your network password.
Update your Wii when prompted. This message appears after a successful Internet connection. It will test whether the Wii is connecting to the Verizon modem.
