Survival Gauntlet
Join Hunter Dan as he leads you on an adventure to a primitive lake hidden deep in the jungle. Use your bow to target ferocious fish and prehistoric creatures. You have to get them before they can get to you. Get them all and you win the game, but it won’t be easy. There are six maps that are built into the game, but to find the map codes you need to visit other web sites. Once you have entered all the codes, you can see the entire map, enabling you to locate all of the targets and competitions in the game. This game runs on a PC and is recommended for players ages 10 and up. It can be purchased from the Hunter Dan website (see References). The site also has a free download so you can try the game before you buy it.
Extreme Fishing
Created for the Wii, the "Shimano Extreme Fishing" game lets you get into the action as you stalk your prey. The game lets you choose your gear from many different types and brands which simulate real bow fishing products. There are more than 40 different types of fish which can be hunted in this game, but bow fishermen will need to watch out because some of the best spots are guarded by alligators and sharks. Hunt fish in diverse places around the world, such as a waterfall in the Amazon rainforest or a deep, dark reservoir in North America. The game is appropriate for kids 10 and older and can be purchased from the AMS Bowfishing site (see References).
Shooting Fish
Take aim with your underwater rig and shoot your arrow at the fish swimming past you. Each fish is worth a different amount of money. Reach your goal, and you get to go to the next level. Watch out, though, because some of the fish will cost you money instead of adding to your fortune. Shoot a porcupine fish and lose hundreds of dollars. Hit an angel fish, a protected species, and the game is over. Each level, the fish get faster and it becomes harder and harder to hit them. This online game is controlled by your mouse and is suitable for kids as young as 6.
