How to Connect Wireless to a Nintendo Wii

It is easy to get online with a Nintendo Wii by utilizing its internal wireless card to connect to a Wi-Fi network. The Wii uses a plain step-by-step process to connect, and allows you to save up to three different network connections.

Instructions

    • 1

Start up your Wii and one controller.

    • 2

Click the “Wii” button on the home screen.

    • 3

Select “Wii Settings,” and then “Internet.”

    • 4

      Open “Connection Settings.”

    • 5

Choose an open connection slot (any open connection slot will say “None” next to it).

    • 6

Click “Wireless Connection” and choose to “Search for an Access Point.”

    • 7

Select “OK” when you are asked to choose an Access Point.

    • 8

Choose the wireless network you want to connect to from the list. If you are attempting to connect to a secure network (signified by a lock icon), you must enter the network password.

    • 9

Wait for the Wii to perform a connection test. You will receive a message letting you know the connection was successful or unsuccessful. If the connection does not work, check your wireless router. If you are connecting to a secured network, ensure that you entered the password correctly.
