How to Load GameCube Games on a Wii

In addition to being able to play all Nintendo Wii titles as well as content downloaded from the Nintendo Store, the Nintendo Wii is also completely backwards compatible with all Nintendo GameCube games. The only things needed are a Nintendo GameCube controller and memory card.

Instructions

      Lift and remove the GameCube controller socket cover found on the side of the Wii console near the power button. When the Wii is standing vertically, this cover is at the top of the console. When horizontal, it&'s on the left side.

      Insert the GameCube controller into the controller port closest to the front of the console.

      Insert a GameCube memory card into one of the memory card ports. The label should be facing towards the right or top side of the Wii.

      Press the "Power" button on any Wii controller or the front of the console to turn on your Wii.

      Insert a GameCube game disc into the Wii&'s disc slot.

      Select "Disc Channel" on the Wii home menu to load the GameCube game, and select "Start" to begin play.
