Purchasing and Redeeming Wii Points from a Retailer
Purchase a Nintendo Points card from any participating retailer. A card is worth 2000 points, and usually costs $19.99 plus tax.
Access the Wii Shop. From the Wii's main menu, select the Wii Shop channel. If you have never accessed this channel before, read the User Agreement and then select “I Agree.” A description of the Wii Shop will appear; select “OK.” The “Welcome to Wii Shop Channel” screen will appear. Select “Start Shopping.”
Redeem the Nintendo Points card. Select “Add Wii Points.” Scratch off the silver area on the back of the card, which will reveal an activation code. Input this number into the blank space on the screen. Select “OK,” and then “Redeem.” The points will then be added to your Wii Shop account. You can now redeem another card, if you have one, or begin shopping at any time.
Check your Wii Points balance, if you need to, by accessing the Wii Shop. Your balance will be displayed in blue numbers, near the bottom of the screen.
Purchasing Wii Points from the Wii Shop Channel
Ensure that you have an accepted credit card. The Wii Shop only accepts Visa or MasterCard.
Go to the Wii Shop channel. If this is your first time accessing the shop, a User Agreement will be presented. Select “I Agree” once you have read and accepted the terms. Select “OK” when the Wii Shop description appears. Select “Start Shopping.”
Purchase the points. Select “Add Wii Points,” then “Buy Wii Points with a Credit Card.” Choose the amount of points you want; they are sold in increments of 1,000, 2,000, 3,000 or 5,000.
Enter your credit card information. Choose Visa or MasterCard, depending on which you would like to use. Enter the card number, expiration date and three-digit security code, then select “OK.” Enter the city, state, zip code and county associated with this credit card, and select “OK.” A screen will appear so you can review the purchase. If everything looks correct, select “Yes.” The points will now be added to your account, and you can begin shopping.
Check your Wii Points balance at any time by accessing the Wii Shop. The balance will be displayed in blue, near the bottom of the screen.
