Lure Color

• Different levels and different fish respond to alternating lure colors. There is no way to know which colors will work better than others on any given fish or level until you alternate colors and test which work best. To change lure color, go to the lure selection screen and press up or down on the control pad to scroll through the choices. Repeat the process until you have found a lure that draws the fish in.

Line Tension

• As is the case with fishing in real life, line tension needs to monitored to prevent it from snapping. The importance of keeping line tension light grows with the size of the fish. If you have a large fish on the line, hit the "Reel" button slowly, to keep light pressure on the line. As the fish tires, you can speed you tapping on the button, but be careful, as the line can still snap and you will lose the fish.

Super Chicken

• To obtain the "Chicken" option, start the game and at the "Start" screen, press up, up, down and hold the "start" button. Now, go to the character selector and choose either "Super Chicken" or "Cyborg Chicken". The "Chickens" fish with different bait than the other characters and have longer poles.

Sonic Lure

• To obtain the "Sonic Lure", you must reach the final tournament in the "normal" mode of game play. When you have successfully reached the final tournament, you will be able to use to the new lure to increase your ability to catch fish in the final level.

Change Clothing and Boat Color

• Though it will not affect your ability to catch fish, you can gain the ability to change the colors of both the clothes of your fisherman and the boat color. To obtain this ability, you must reach the final tournament while playing in the "normal" game play mode.
