How to Connect a Hughesnet Modem to Wii Wireless

Because the Nintendo Wii comes packaged with a built-in wireless Ethernet adapter, connecting to any wireless modem is a relatively simple procedure. If you have a HughesNet modem and you wish to connect the Wii to the modem via wireless, you can do so by manipulating the options on your Wii&'s system menu.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn your Wii and your HughesNet modem on.

    • 2

Use your Wiimote to select the "Wii System Menu" option on your Wii main menu. This option is located in the lower left corner of the main menu.

    • 3

Select the "Wii Settings" option in the Wii system menu, then select the "Internet" option in the Wii settings menu.

    • 4

Select the "Connection Settings" option in the Internet menu, then select one of your available connections to set it up.

    • 5

Select the "Wireless Connection" option, then select the "Search For an Access Point" option to bring up a list of available access points.

    • 6

Select the access point that represents your HughesNet modem. If your modem requires a password for access, you will be asked to supply one. After entering your password, a system link test will be performed, after which you will be connected to your HughesNet modem.
