Things You'll Need
Instructions
Synchronize the first Wii remote to the console by turning on the console and then pressing the power button on the remote. Remove the battery cover on the remote. If you have an SD card installed in your Wii remote, remove this first and then press the "Sync" button inside the battery compartment. The button is located below the batteries; the batteries do not need to be removed for this step. Replace the battery cover and wait for the "Play" button to stop flashing and show a solid light. Your first remote is synced.
Place the first remote into one of the guitar controllers. Depending on which version of guitar controller you have, you will either slide the Wii remote into the controller slot, or connect the remote to the USB cable in the controller first and then slide it in place. The front of the remote should be facing out of the guitar controller. Turn on the game and let it load.
Press and hold the "Home" button (the icon that looks like a house) on the first controller. This will make a menu appear on your game screen. Scroll down to select "Wii Settings" and then change the number of players from "1" to "2." Save your changes and exit the screen.
Turn your second Wii remote on and remove the battery cover.
Press and release the "Sync" button located below the batteries and replace the cover. Turn the remote over so you can look at its face; when the "Play" light stops flashing the remote is synced, and it should also show two smaller lights to indicate that this remote is synced for Player 2 (Wii remotes have four lights to indicate up to 4 players).
Install your second remote into the other guitar controller and start the game.
