Things You'll Need
Instructions
Buy a Nintendo Wii development kit. This kit installs on a computer, and anything that is programmed to work within this system will work on a Wii console. The kits cost about $1,700 as of June 2010.
Buy the rights to a PC game that you want to convert or find a game and company that is willing to work with you.
Hire a staff of computer programmers with video game coding experience. These people will convert files and audio and video from the PC version to the Wii development kit.
Obtain a work area. A common work area is essential for your team to collaborate.
Find the PC game development code. This coding is the information that the PC game is built upon and will be the backbone for the Wii port.
Convert files from the PC code to the Wii development kit. This step is the longest in the process. It may take up to a year to port the game depending on how many files there are and how expansive the game.
Test the ported game on the development kit.
Send a copy of the game to Nintendo for approval. Every game that plays on the Wii must be approved by the company before it is released.
