How to Connect a PC to a Nintendo Wii

The Nintendo Wii is designed to output its video and audio for watching on a TV. You can connect a PC to the Wii so you can use the superior quality of the computer monitor for watching. You will need an input device on your PC, such as a video input device or a TV tuner card. You will also need a few video and audio accessories from a computer or electronics store. Watching the Wii on a PC̵7;s computer screen does not void the warranty or damage the Wii or the PC in any way.

Instructions

      Place the Nintendo Wii next to the computer. Plug the Wii output adapter into the back of the game console.

      Plug the USB cable of the video input device or the TV tuner card into a USB port on the computer.

      Eject the disc tray of the computer̵7;s DVD drive. Put the installation disc that comes with the video input device or the TV tuner card onto the disc tray. Close the disc tray.

      Double-click on the icon of the installation disc when it appears on the desktop. Double-click on the installation program that is inside of the window that appears. Follow the menu commands to install the video input device or the TV tuner card program onto the computer̵7;s hard drive.

      Eject the disc tray when the installation is completed. Remove the installation disc. Close the disc tray. Restart the computer.

      Plug the yellow plug from the Wii output adapter into the female connector on the composite video to mini-plug adapter.

      Plug the mini-plug of the composite video to mini-plug adapter into the video input connector on the video input of the video input device or the TV tuner card.

      Plug the red and white plugs from the Wii output adapter into the red and white connections on the stereo to mini-plug adapter.

      Plug the mini-plug of the stereo to mini-plug adapter into the audio input connector of the video input device or the TV tuner card.

      Double-click on the video input device or the TV tuner card̵7;s program that is on the desktop to launch it. Select ̶0;Composite̶1; from the ̶0;Video̶1; drop-down menu. Select ̶0;Stereo̶1; from the ̶0;Audio̶1; drop-down menu.

      Turn the Wii on. Wait for the Wii̵7;s Home menu to appear in the video input device or the TV tuner card program̵7;s window.

      Select ̶0;Full screen̶1; from the drop-down menu below ̶0;View̶1; at the top of the screen. Watch the picture of the Wii on the computer screen.
