How to Convert PAL to NTSC for Nintendo Wii Games

Playing European, or PAL, Nintendo Wii games on an American, or NTSC, Nintendo Wii does not require modding the system's hardware. All you need is a swap disc designed for this purpose. Once the disc is placed into the system, it tricks the American Wii's hardware into thinking that the next game placed into the system is a NTSC game. You will have access to every feature, including online modes and the ability to save game progress.

Instructions

  Turn on the Nintendo Wii. Once the main menu loads, make sure there is no disc in the system by pressing the "Eject" button.

  Place the FreeLoader disc into the system. Once it loads up, select it by pointing the cursor onto the FreeLoader image and pressing the "A" button. The disc will load, and a few options will appear.

  Select the option for "Play 'PAL' discs." After a moment, the disc will eject. Pull it out.

  Slide the PAL game you want to play into the system. The game will load up and play as if it were on a European Wii.
