Format your Memory Stick Pro Duo. Insert the memory stick in the PSP USB port. Press "Home" on your PSP, go to "Settings," and then go to "System Settings." Press "X" to go into system settings, and then go to "Format Memory Stick" and press "X." Confirm that you want to format the memory stick by choosing "Yes."
Download the Homebrew game that you want. Homebrew games can be found on many websites. Make sure you download a file that supports your current firmware. If you have firmware 1.0, then download a game for firmware 1.0, or update your firmware. Also make sure the game is specifically for PSP by looking for PSP in the file title.
Save the file to your computer. Unzip the folder by right-clicking on the folder, then clicking "Unzip."
Connect the PSP to your computer with a USB cable. Press "Home" on the PSP, go to "Settings," and then to "USB Connection." Press "X" to confirm the PSP connection to your computer. A window will open for your PSP. Make sure your memory stick is connected to the PSP.
Copy the files to your memory stick. Open the "PSP" folder on your memory stick, and then open the "Game" folder. Drag and drop the files into the "Game" folder on the memory stick.
Disconnect the PSP from the computer once the files have copied. On your PSP, go to the "Game" column from the main menu and choose the "Memory Stick" option. Choose the game that you just installed from the file list. Press "X" to start playing your Homebrew game.
