Things You'll Need
Instructions
Look at the bottom of the Wii controller. There are four blue lights which represent connection. If these lights do not turn on, your batteries may be dead. Open the back panel of the Wii remote and place new batteries in the controller. Close the panel and press the "A" button. The controller should connect.
Wave the Wii remote with your hands back and forth in front of the screen. The Wii pointer should match your movements. Turn the controller around so that the black square on the Wiimote is facing the television. Gently tap the top of the Wii remote (the side with the "A" button) against your palm a few times. The cursor should match your movements.
Move so you are between three and 10 feet from the sensor bar and make sure the sensor bar is positioned on top or in front of your television and centered. Keep any obstructions away from the sensor bar to ensure a good connection.
Remove all sources of heat or electromagnetic interference such as candles, sunlight (directly shining on the sensor bar), heat from stoves, cell phones, and wireless keyboards and mice. Press "A" to reestablish connection.
Press the "A" button to turn on the Wii remote. The buttons will flash. If they flash, but then do not stay on, you may have a connection problem. Turn off the Wii and unplug it for a few seconds. Plug it back in and turn it on. Open the front cover of the system and hold the red button down for 15 seconds to clear all remote syncs to the system. Open the back cover of the remote and the front cover of the Wii gaming system. Press the red button on both the remote and the system at the same time to reestablish a connection.
