Instructions

    • 1

Purchase the necessary equipment to play the guitar and bass on the Nintendo Wii. Besides the basic set up of a television and Nintendo Wii, you will need to purchase a Wii guitar and appropriate software for the system. Some of the games you might want to choose from are Rock Band and Guitar Hero, which are the more popular ones.

    • 2

Turn on the software and begin the tutorial. The game will teach you how to play, such as strumming and holding the buttons down at the same time. You will also learn how to use the whammy bar, and how to hold the long notes. If this is your first time ever playing the guitar or bass on the Nintendo Wii, you will want to start on beginner method as it has less notes.

    • 3

Finish the tutorial and select the tour. The tour will allow you to learn all of the songs on the game, and it will help you increase your skills. At the beginning of the tour it will allow you to choose bass or guitar, but if you choose the guitar mode you will find it a little more difficult as it has more notes to go along with the beat of the music.

    • 4

Practice to increase your skill. Your goal on each song is to miss the least amount of notes, or even have a perfect song. Once you feel comfortable on the easier level, you will want to increase skill level. Increased skill level will mean more notes and tricks, as well as using four or five buttons. Make sure you are comfortable on each level before you step up, or you could be easily frustrated.

    • 5

Challenge your friends in a free play mode. All Guitar Heros and Rock Bands give the option of challenging or multi-play, and this will allow you to see how you compare to others. If you have Internet access at home, you can also play with people across the world. If you are playing at home with someone else, you can play the bass and he or she can play the guitar or visa versa, and you can get the whole band experience.
