How Do I Install Games on My Wii Using an SD Card?

Unlike many other video-game systems, the Nintendo Wii does not have very much internal storage space (that is, the amount of data that can be stored on the system). Thankfully, Nintendo provides a solution to this problem by allowing players to use SD cards to store downloaded games and content. Games stored on an SD card can then be transferred and installed directly onto the Nintendo Wii.

Choose the "Data Management" option. It is located on the left side of the "Wii Options" screen.

    • 5

Select the "Channels" option on the right side of the screen.

    • 6

Pick the "SD Card" option in the upper-right corner of the screen. This will display all of the games that you currently have stored on your SD card.

Choose the game that you would like to install and select it with the "A" button. Once you do, you will be prompted to install the game. Do so by pressing the "Copy" button. Your game will now be immediately installed onto your Wii.
