How to Convert Pal Strikers to NTSC on Wii

The Nintendo Wii's "Mario Strikers: Charged" transposes the action and characters of the "Super Mario Bros" franchise to the football field, putting Mario, Bowser and friends in a battle to become king of the game of soccer. The game is available in all territories, but if you have a PAL (European or Pacific) version of the game and want to play it on an NTSC (North American) console, there is only one way to get around the Wii's regional lockout: using Codejunkies' "Wii Freeloader" disc.

Things You'll Need

  • NTSC-based Nintendo Wii
  • "Wii Freeloader: US Version" disc
  • PAL "Mario Strikers: Charged" game disc

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your Nintendo Wii and insert the "Wii Freeloader: US Version" disc. The disc will run automatically.

    • 2

Wait for the colored bars on your screen to come to a standstill. This signals that the device has loaded.

    • 3

Press the "Eject" button and remove the "Freeloader" disc from your Wii. Re-insert the disc and wait for a second series of colored bars to come to a standstill.

    • 4

Press "Eject" and remove the "Freeloader" disc. Replace the disc with your PAL "Mario Strikers: Charged" game disc. The game will load as if it were an NTSC title.
