Wii snowboard games

With the help of the Wii balance board, the Nintendo Wii is suited to snowboarding games. Placed on the ground like a snowboard and able to detect the subtlest leans and movements, the balance board is the closest you can get to the slopes without needing winter weather gear.
From the bunny hills to triple-black diamonds, boarders of all ages and abilities can experience the thrill of snowboarding glory with these Wii snowboarding games.
  1. "Shaun White Snowboarding: Road Trip"

    • Olympic champion Shaun White put his name on the very first snowboarding title for the Nintendo Wii, released in 2008. Players in "Shaun White Snowboarding: Road Trip" follow White around the globe, snowboarding in Alaska, Utah, Europe and Japan. As you progress through the game, you unlock more tricks and competitions. There is also a "Free Ride" mode where you can explore the terrain on your own.
The game's sequel, "Shaun White Snowboarding: World Stage" was released in late 2009, just in time for the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver. "World Stage" runs on the same graphics engine and offers you a chance to snowboard in new locations, including Canada and New York City. This time, winning competitions takes precedence over the exploring you'll do in "Road Trip."
Both games can be played with either the Wii Remote or the Wii Balance Board. Using the balance board adds an extra level of difficulty to the games, as you must use the edges of your board to perform tricks, just like in real snowboarding.

    "We Ski and Snowboard"

    • "We Ski and Snowboard" lacks the realism and powerful graphics of the "Shaun White Snowboarding" series, but still offers a challenging style of game play. The game uses Mii avatars to customize the look of each player and features 14 courses on two fictional mountains. Players can choose from missions, races and a ski school, where you can learn new tricks.
Like the "Shaun White Snowboarding" series, "We Ski and Snowboard" uses the Wii Balance Board or the Wii Remote.
For youngsters and casual gamers who don't prefer the competitive storyline in "Shaun White Snowboarding," "We Ski and Snowboard" is ideal.

    "Triple Crown Championship Snowboarding"

    • Released in February 2010, "Triple Crown Snowboarding" follows closely on the success of snowboarding sports at the 2010 Olympic Games.
The game allows players to compete in three Olympic snowboarding events (slalom, boarder cross and half-pipe) in a standalone video game. "Triple Crown Snowboarding" is also the only snowboarding game that incorporates the likenesses of real snowboarders, including Olympic medalists Hannah Teter and Seth Wescott.
As with other Wii snowboarding games, players can choose to control the game using the Wii Balance Board or the Wii Remote.
