How to Connect a Nintendo Game System to an RCA TV

Nintendo game systems use three composite audio-video cables to connect to a television. RCA TV sets are equipped with several sets of composite jacks for hooking up game systems, DVD players and more, so connecting the devices involves matching the color codes on plugs and jacks. No special equipment is needed, since Nintendo video game systems come with their own cable connectors, including a proprietary plug for attaching to the game console.

Instructions

  Connect the multi-plug on one end of the connector cables that came with the gaming system to the port on the back of the Nintendo console. The plug inserts in one direction only, so don't try to force it into the jack.

  Insert the red, yellow and white plugs on the other end of the connector cables into a set of AV input jacks on the RCA TV, matching the colors on the jacks to the plugs. Most RCA sets come with three sets of composite jacks to hook up several devices.

  Plug in and turn on both devices.

  Press the "Input" button on the RCA TV or remote control until the Nintendo logo appears on screen.
