How to Forward Channels on Wii

Internet technology has allowed people to share virtually anything with anybody in a moment's notice. The marriage between the Internet and video games has only added to the vast options available for sharing. In addition to sending messages or even photos between two Wiis over the Nintendo Wi-Fi network, you can even forward a game or a channel through the Wii Shop Channel.

Things You'll Need

Nintendo Wii
Wi-Fi access
Wii Points card or credit card

Instructions

  Power on the Wii console and select the Message Board function by clicking the envelope icon in the lower right corner of the home menu.

  Open the Address book by clicking the address book icon in the lower left corner of the screen. Copy the console's Friend Code off the front of the address book.

  Exchange the Friend Code for your Wii with that of the other console to which you want to forward the channel. You will need to get the Friend Code from that console, and they will need to input your console's code into theirs.

  Click the Add button and input the Friend Code for the other console into your address book. Type in the name for the friend. Click Enter.

  Return to the home menu by pressing the home button on your Wii remote. Select the Wii Shop Channel from the menu.

  Click the "Begin Shopping" button and select "Add Wii Points." Follow the on-screen prompts to either redeem your Wii Points card or purchase some more Wii Points using your credit card.

  Browse through the available options until you locate the game or channel you want to forward to the other console.

  Click the "Gift" button.

  Select the console you're sending this channel to. Use the name you input in the Address Book. If you would like to include a message, you will be given the option to add one on the next screen. When ready, click the "OK" button.

  Wait for the message to indicate that the channel has been sent. Someone will have to go to the Message Board and download the new channel or game from the message you have sent.
